For a 3.8 this place is very UNDERRATED! I have only tried the egusi soup and fufu so far and I LOVED IT. I would travel from Delaware to Philadelphia just for this combo. I have found Tastee D's today and wish I'd found it sooner! the atmosphere was amazing, the service was amazing, the lady at the register was so sweet with a brightening smile! and most importantly the FOOD WAS AMAZING I will continue to go to this place seriously, they are the REAL DEAL.

I Called to order for gbegiri and ewedu, I was told my order will be ready in 30 mins. I got there to pick my order only to be told that "gbegiri was not available" but my order was already packaged without informing me beforehand, also ordered for pando and assorted meat stew. The assorted meat stew was good but the pando was soft and lumpy.

Tucked away in a Bear, DE neighborhood is this small mom and pop type eatery.

Firstly, I must say that the person taking my order was very patient with all my questions. I am not a novice to African Cuisine having lived in the DC metropolitan area. I have had the pleasure of enjoying some delicious and flavorful homemade African Cuisine at friend's homes and parties. But I do not know the cuisine enough's to name the dishes I've eaten accept Jollof Rice. So for her patience, I will be conservative in my criticism.

With that being said, I ordered carryout. Once I brought the dishes back to my friends home, My friend and I were quite taken back by the smell of one of the dishes. The dish was deemed uneatable and unfortunately trashed. The rest of the dishes were just okay not outstanding but palatable.

This place is not cheap. Two to Three entrees will cost you over 60.00 dollars for takeout. Running a small business is not easy. There is such a void in DE for good ethnic.

I hope they can last.

0 stars is if I could! The worst customer service ever! Whoever picks up the phone needs a solid customer service training. Every time my husband or I call this establishment to place an order, The lady has always just been rude. Today was just the worst ever. The lady was utterly dismissive and disrespectful. You just don’t talk to customers that way. I called back to express my discontent in regards to the way I was treated and lady just hung up on me. I called yet again to ask for her name she told me yelling “why do you want to know my name, what does it matter” then she later said her name is Bose; not sure if she made that up but best believe I’m taking my business to K’s Kitchen where the service is way better, more affordable and the food is absolutely much more better than Tastee D. Y’all better save yourself an embarrassment by going to K’s kitchen itself because Tastee D’s service will make you loose your appetite. I’m never ever going to this restaurant ever again. Owner if you’re reading this, you need to let “Bose” go if you want more customers at your business because if you keep her, she will definitely ward off people who want to bring you business. Absolutely terrible service! Just disgraceful!

I am a doordasher. I've never walked into a horrible environment like this. All of the other merchants have been pleasant and friendly. I went to go pick up an order today in this horrible establishment. There were no customers in there and I assumed that the order sitting on the counter was my pick-up order. I went to go grab it and the woman who I guessed owns the restaurant runs out of the kitchen and says, "Don't you touch that!!! How dare you?!" I told her that it was near the Doordash order section and sure enough...that was the right order when I showed her my phone. She still continued to scold me about touching an order that hasn't been approved. So unprofessional!!! I've never eaten here, but the stench in my car from the restaurant to the delivery location was horrible. I see this "restaurant" going out of business soon if they don't get anymore friendly faces. I definitely won't be ordering from here or doing anymore doordashes from this place.

Idk what all the recent reviewers are talking about but I drove from Philly just to get this delicious food! The woman who helped me was very sweet and provided WONDERFUL customer service. And the food was just like my mum’s cooking. Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Naija food!

I stopped by for a jollof platter last night and it was delicious! I personally did not experience the attitude that some of the other reviews mentioned. I thought the lady at the register was witty and sweet! Give them a try. Delicious food

I placed an online delivery order and told them to put the fried fish separate from the rice and ofcourse they laid it on top of the rice. Then I asked for 3 red stews and I got 1 container of it with just a little bit in it. The fish was cold and chewy. Will not order delivery again.
