If I could give it a 0 I would. Drivers are terrible and extremely reckless one of them almost drove us off the road while trying to pass another truck. This happened on I4 by Orlando at around 1am.

Absolutely terrible carrier relations, called
To inform dispatch that we were having issues at receiver when it came to being unloaded, I called MAG as soon as I was informed of the situation and the man on the line tried to argue with me saying I should have called sooner etc. this is all happening in real time as we spoke on the phone, I have a scheduled pickup by crane appt and was only asking for his assistance when it came to getting an eta from his customer to be unloaded so I can inform my next pick up. Have some respect for your carriers!

Used to be a great company, but has quickly gone downhill. The owner used to legitimately care for the drivers and treated them like family, but now they actively look for ways to cheat them out of their hard earned money. They'll make promises to compensate a driver for detention, layover etc. then after not getting said compensation for several weeks will then claim they never said they'd compensate for that. Even once told a driver they didn't feel like paying him so they weren't going to. They treat their in-house employees much the same. There is a reason why the company has had to outsource their dispatching positions. Aside from being incredibly cheap ( to the point they changed an employee from salary pay to commission only with no warning, thus ensuring said employee could no longer afford to work there ), but they can't hold on to quality dispatchers due to the treatment the dispatchers endure. Every employee there feels that the must walk on eggshells since no one knows what mood the owner is in ( his temperament is very mercurial, to the point that a lot people wonder if he's bipolar ). Both owners have also openly talked poorly about other employees. They were overheard making fun of one employees paycheck as they were commission only and half the trucks were on home time. They also belittled another employee for taking a day off to be present for their daughter's surgical procedure. Yet the owners take expensive vacations every two to three weeks only to come back and complain how the trucks aren't making enough money, blaming the shortcoming on whoever is most convenient to blame at the time.
I could go on, but that would be the equivalent of a lengthy novel. The moral of the story is to stay far away from MAG. They lure a lot of drivers in under the guise of being devout Christians, but they are wolves in lamb's clothing. There's a reason why they went from twenty company trucks to only eight, and a reason as to why they lost nearly 40% of their owner operators.

I started driving for these folks in November of 2019. So far so good. There is a lot of freedom here, which is a really nice change from my last company. There are so many load boards available to you here it'll make your head spin. They have a very large focus on safety and compliance which really makes them stand out among other companies. Their safety program is very strict. It's a little daunting at first, to be completely honest. But it's nice to see such a focus on accountability. Nobody bothers me here at all, I'm as free as it gets. They don't watch over your shoulder scrutinizing every move you make. If you show them that you're responsible and trustworthy, they leave you alone. Awesome. I make better money here than I ever have in my life. And I'm able to do that while only running three states and staying close to home. There's no such thing as a perfect job, this is no different. I'd definitely argue this is as close as it gets, at least for me. The issues I have are not even worth mentioning, honestly. Am I going to stay here forever? No. But am I happy? Absolutely. Eventually I'll get my own authority, hopefully sooner rather than later. When I do, I'll have this company to thank. I was O/O before coming here but learned a lot more since coming here. It really is like a family, and everyone really does know you by name. It's been a wonderful experience.

We have been with MAG since 2015 and have nothing but good things to say. As an owner/operator, I would recommend them to anyone who asked. They only take 10% of gross revenue, which is far better than other carriers. You also book your own freight so you are truly your own decision maker. The staff is friendly and the owners Mr. George and Mrs. Patricia are very helpful.

I'm a large collision center manager in Syracuse New York and had a unit towed in for repairs. This company's safety / fleet division was one of the best I have dealt with in my 32yrs of collision repairs. They provided constant communication, prompt approval and payment. Pleasure dealing with this company's staff.
Thanks,
Greg

If you're starting out as an owner, it is a good place to get started. Access to many load boards, and the owner is accessible and really does care about the drivers.
