I have been a patient for years and love working with Alvin. Lately, they don’t answer phone calls, or call back. I was in the ER a few days ago wish severe foot pain and need a referral to my orthopedic surgeon and physical therapist and no one is calling me back. This office is not the same. Dr. Shawn Hamilton needs to get her office together.

I haven’t even met the actual doctor I was given a nurse practitioner that didn’t even read my new patient forms. They sent me the wrong dosage of one of my medications and said it couldn’t be fixed till the next appointment I had to personally check what I typed in the form to prove it was their fault and all of a sudden they could fix my dosage. I’m in stage three kidney failure and apparently that’s not concerning to them at all they were wanting me to wait till the middle of the month to fix the situation. Secretary is rude as hell may he never have to deal with someone like himself. I will be switching doctors I recommend going anywhere else. This is the second bad experience with them in only a month.

I’ve been a patient at Dr. Shawn Hamilton’s office for a few years now, and I’m extremely disappointed with the care (or lack thereof) that I’ve received. Not once in all this time have I actually seen Dr. Hamilton herself. Every single visit or consultation has been handled by a Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner.

One of the most frustrating aspects is the way they handle radiology results. After waiting for the results, you’re only offered a phone appointment with the PA on Fridays—apparently, that’s the only day the PA is available. If you need your results earlier, too bad. You’re forced to wait, regardless of the urgency of your situation.

While I understand that many healthcare providers work remotely these days, and that it may not make sense to have staff on-site if there aren’t enough patients, this system has serious flaws. For someone in pain, the delays are unacceptable. My experience has been a constant cycle of waiting: waiting for an appointment, then waiting for radiology, waiting for the results, and finally, waiting to be referred to a specialist—who, of course, you’ll have to wait weeks to see as well.

The bottom line is that it takes over a month just to start getting any real treatment or relief from pain. This office’s approach to patient care is sorely lacking, and I can no longer recommend Dr. Hamilton’s practice to anyone in need of timely and effective medical care.

The worst doctor and the worst management of the clinic. they do never answer the phone nor they call back. i have been calling them from the last few days and leaving them voicemails but they never respond nor they call back. they are very irresponsible. i am going to call medical or caloptima to report them

Had a phone call with the NP to get a referral (I never actually met the doctor before). They said it would take about 24 hours.

I emailed the next day to ask about the referral and they immediately replied asking me if I paid the copay.

They did not ask me for payment on the initial call and they don't have any way to pay online.

They wanted me to email my cc number, which I did not want to do because that is weird.

They also asked if I could call and pay the copay over the phone but they did not pick up the phone when I called.

I asked them if they were withholding my referral over $20 and they assured me they were not and we are waiting on insurance.

I called my insurance the next day (2 days later) and they informed me the doctor had not submitted the referral yet.

I asked why they lied about it and I did not get an answer.

Eventually someone called me to get payment and they were not even aware of the situation.

So at best the office is incompetent, and at worse the office is willing to withhold a referral over $20.

absolutely terrible service. if i could give zero stars i would. my advice is DO NOT choose this doctor to take care of you. the office will NOT answer your calls no matter how many times you try. i have had so many issues with them. save yourself the trouble & go with a different doctor.
